Fly me to the moon. Truth be told, before i watch evangelion, i never, ever heard of the song. First time ive heard it, i was thingking, that not such a bad ED song after all. When i had my first evngelion ost cd, i re-recorded it and play it out loud on my old stereo. Me old man pops in suddenly into my room and upon hearing that song, he was like dumbfounded. He never heard that version before. I mention that it was from an cartoon i watching (anime is too foreign a word for me to use). He left my room with a strangest smirk on his face and said ‘good on you son’. Uhm, right dad.
After all this time, i never grown tired of listening to this song. And considering there is like almost 10 (or more) version in the various evangelion ost, it like a bonanza of variety. Well, as usual i have it on my friendster page. Hope you will like it as much as i do. Enjoy

Recently i manage to ‘aquire’ the game hou shimu. So what is this Hou Shimu malarkey is all about? It is a ww2 turn based hentai strategy game. And yes, the whole thing is in japanese language. The thing that i like about this game is that they have commies, nazi and let not forget pommy lolies. yes, your high commander is those rather kawai looking ojou-sama. I like the soviet one
(and for the record, I’m not a lolicon).

Some of the ‘commander’ in the game.
As for the gameplay itself, playing hou shime feels like playing the old civilization game. You got grid representing territory. You can upgrade your territory by building facilities to build better unit, or produce more resources or enhance its defence. Fine tuning your territory is essential to victory. Do you turn your territory into a major factory center or a mecha uber fortress?
The main map
The facilities upgrade screen.
In Hou Shimu, combat is based on the turn based system. Combat is an automatic affair, with you only being able to choose what unit you want to use for the coming battle. Success in battle depend on several factor, such as using the appropiate unit and to using common sense. Sending an army without air cover againt a strong air based force, you know the result for that.
The battle screen
Last, but not least, the….motivation for playing this game.Truth be told, i havent unlock any hentai scene yet
. No fear though, i will post the image when i’ve unlock it. So, in the end, i do enjoy playing Hou Shimu, though i have no idea what the heck they are talking about. It got that addictive factor that i found irresistable.
P.s: looks like that abe fellow will be the next Pm of japan. I still rooting for you Aso Rozen

I was skimming trough Anime News Service when i stumble upon this article:
Could Japan’s Next Prime Minister Be An Otaku?
Fox News mentions Foreign Minister Taro Aso is in the preliminary running to be Japan’s next prime minister. At this time when the nation’s soft power is at an all time high many see his affinity with modern culture to make a him prime shoe-in candidate: A comic book enthusiast, Aso emphasized the importance of keeping up with the Japanese specialty of animation, an obvious appeal to “otaku,” or “geek” voters. Saturday the 3 candidates took their campaign to the streets of Akihabara (aka the otaku’s sacred ground). This could be considered in a round of bout sort of way as “home turf” for Aso. The Foreign Minister capitlized on the venue starting off his speech saying “You who calls yourselves ‘Akihabara Otaku’”. There were around 10,000 spectators who gathered for the event. The statement drew a ton of laughter. He mentioned the growing influence of Japan’s animation and pop culture in the world. He told the story of Italian football super striker Francesco Totti who’s role was vital in that country clenching the World Cup this year. Aso said it’s well known Totti saw the anime TV series Captain Tsubasa as a child and it’s having influenced him to start playing soccer. Another example came from Japan’s SDF involvement in middle east peacekeeping. In an inncident involving a local’s car in a country the SDF was patrolling, a sticker of an anime character was seen to be placed on the car somehow and averted troops from firing on it. YouTube has a 7 minute video of the speech he delivered there in front of the Akihabara UDX building which houses the Tokyo Anime Center. The otaku even came out to support him, Akiba Blog has pics of Aso at the event. Japanese fan bloggers themselves have given him the nickname of Aso Rozen after a fairly widespread rumored event involving him possibly having read a Rozen Maiden manga.
Aso Rozen Mugshot

So i guess after this the national reading material for Japan will be Rozen Maiden manga?

Recently i had an all paid trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah courtesy of mom and pops. My brother is currently being posted there so accomodation and food was free. Went there with my sis. It was a fun trip, seeing the nice countryside, smelling the fresh air, the abundant and cheap supply of food etc.. But the what caught my eyes that there is a toy and collectors shop near my brother apartment
. The name of the shop is KK Toys. And it got PVC figurine in it. Thus the otaku side of me was in a state of bliss.
So, on my second day in KK (I was there for 3 days) i went inside the shop. The selection of product was not extensive as in some of the shops here in Kuala Lumpur. But what caught my eyes was that they have instore Seras Victoria of Hellsing figure. I was going OOHH and AHH like some dumsh*** kid. Alas, i didn’t have enough money to buy that beauty *sigh*. After that i browse around and finally end up at the bargain corner. They were selling old gundam and other models. In the end i bought the Sacchiel and Zeruel (the 3rd and 14th angel in Evangelion)model for rm 16 (4.38 USD) which i reckon is a steal .
So yeah, if you’restuck in Kota Kinabalu and got nothing better to do, head to KK toys at Unit 2/G13-14, Ground & 1st Floor, Api-Api Centre, Lorong Api-Api, Jalan Centre Point, 88000 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Who knows, you might get a good bargain there. Oh, and here is their website.
here’s the pic i promise. Sorry, not much to look at

Lately i have been dusting off my old collection of evangelion ost’s. Truth be told, i’m not exactly a classical or an instrumental music expert. But till now i remember the first time i watch an advertisement for evangelion while i was in Australia. The ad showed the battle scene while the background music that being played was the cresendo of symphony no 9. I was feeling…awestruck i guess when i watch the ad for the first time. Maybe is that tingling feeling, that resonance you feel when you watch a masterpiece. After that ive manage to get my grubby hand on the 1st and 2nd ost through a combination of purchasing , grovelling and, erm, outright pirating of the osts.
For me, of all the instrumental song in the cd, i still like symphony no 9, especially the part where the song hit the cresendo part. For me, that song always give me the tingling feeling when i heard it. I cant explain it, its just that everytime i hear that part, i feel like i can take on the world. I mean, its the kind of music that i would play in my head if i ever manage to get myself in a ‘charge of the light brigade’ or ‘last stand in thermopylae’ kind of messed up situation.
Apart from symphony no 9, there are other musical piece that i dig as well in the osts. i like to listen Partita III fur Violino solo E-dur to chill out. It got that soothing violin music that great when you want to just chill out. And who can forget the emotional impact when you listen to Kanon D-dur in the ending of death-Rebirth. All in all, there is tons of good music in the Evangelion osts .
Since i’ve converted some of the file to mp3, i decided to put the song i’ve mention in this rant in an embedded flash mp3 player on my friendster page. Yeah, im sorry that i couldn’t put it here, but since this is a free blog, well….

Well, i would like to say sorry for the lack of post these past few days. I’ve been to Terengganu, sending my nanny back to her home village. Well, since i haven’t got anything interesting to post, guess i’ll be talking about Terengganu, as an info to those who haven’t been there.
Terengganu is a northern state within peninsular Malaysia. It is still largely a rural state. The only place where you find huge number of people is in the state capital and the massive oil refineries that they have there. Mostly you would find village and small towns in Terengganu. Not to say the place is undeveloped. Most places have the basic necessities such as electricity and water. I like Terengganu a lot, especially the coastline, as it is still unspoilt. I guess that Terengganu have this rustic sort of charm, like the perfect place to cool down and just enjoy the scenery. .If you want to visit Terengganu, there are numerous way to reach it, ranging from flights to coach bus. There tons and tons of places where you can stay and most of it are affordable as well. Be warned though, the weather can be kinda crazy at times. it would be sunshine one minute, tropical strom the next. So if you think that Terengganu sounds like a nice place and you want to visit it, just head to the nearest tourism office in Malaysia. Those nice people will give you tons of info on how to get there and back.
Below is some snapshot that i took when i was there. Forgive for the….rather bad quality of photo.

Greetings, (Btw, the pic has nothing to do with what i’m writing about, but i like Mahoro And Tenma, so there)
This will be my first coherent post here. As I’m still learning this blogging thingy, hence much stuff is still unsorted, for which I’m sorry of. But as thing blog rolls on, hopefully I’ll be able to improve the looks and content of this blog (as it were). Well, for now I will muse on why I’m starting this blog.
I was born in Malaysia before my mum went to work in New Zealand and Australia. Hence, I preferred to use English rather than my native tongue (Malay). After my mum finish her tenure there, I came back to Malaysia. Manage to enrol myself in college, and I began to revert back using my mother tongue. I began to neglect the use of English, either by writing or speaking. After awhile, university didn’t turn out to be such a hot idea after all. Let just say everything was not rosy and plain sailing at all. I was feeling real low. And I needed to do something to alleviate this depression that I have. So I decided to do something to occupy my mind and help me practise whatever speck of English language that I still have in my brain.
Then suddenly a troubling thought hits me. What the heck I’m going to write about? At first I have no idea whatsoever. I was stumped. Then I’ve decided to write stuff I know best. I love watching anime. I like looking (and buying) Japanese figurine. I read manga. And I reckon macross is the greatest show ever shown on earth (sounds corny but true). Then one day my friend told me that I’m such an otaku. And then there I was what the heck is an otaku? So I look up at wikipedia to check out what this otaku stuff is all bouts. After reading that entry, maybe some part of me can be considered as otaku (hence the title of my blog). So I decided to write stuff that I find interesting, like the anime I’m currently watching, or maybe about the pursuit of my next buying spree of anime related merchandise. But not all stuff will be otaku related. Maybe I’ll talk bout where I live at, maybe about Malaysia. Or bout that rugby match I watch recently.
So well, yeah, that’s my reason why I’m writing this blog. True, there is vastly better blog on the topic I’ll well be writing about out there. I totally acknowledge that. But hopefully I’ll improve and maybe, just maybe all you out there will like the stuff I’ve put in here. Well, till next time, cheers.
